Welcome to the San Francisco River Project
The Mission
The Mission of the San Francisco River Project is to share the joy and healing that nature gives to me, through my photography and other artistic expressions, created of and inspired by the the San Francisco River; it’s natural beauty and the diversity of life that relies on it for support.

The Project
The project I am sharing with you is a personal journey of exploration and learning.  Beginning with a few small segments along the river; I will be exploring the river and parts of its valleys and tributaries, recording what I see and experience.  I will be collecting photographs, videos, audio clips, and journal entries to share with you in various locations and formats.    I will do my best to identify what I see and hear, using various resources.

About the Artist
My first serious interests in nature photography began in the early 2000's with a cheap point and click camera and a desire to capture various subjects for art projects, that usually included flowers, insects, and landscapes.  Attempting to capture fast moving birds or close-up views of the smaller micro-world, proved to be very challenging and quickly turned into an obsession.
Photographing closeup details of life, developed into a curiosity, and a sense of wonder; really noticing for the first time as adult the variety of patterns and colors that fill the natural world,  which  has fueled my love of nature and desire to learn more about everything in it, along with wanting to improve my skills as a photographer to be able to capture it and share it with the world.
